Black Lake 2-day campout -- page 1
5/10/00
This short campout got off too a slow start, since the
day before we purchased a new scanner. I spent all morning getting it
setup and configured. It's always so much fun searching the internet
for updated drivers. By the time I finished it was almost noon, I
took a look outside and decided to watch the weather. Yup just what
it looked like, the radar shows a line of rain; two or maybe three
hours away. So if I'm going to get camp set up before that hits I
better get a move on. It's now 2:00pm; pulled up and got a quick
picture by the entrance sign and its
starting to
drizzle a little bit. I took a quick buzz around the camp to see
who else was here; nobody! I've got the whole place to myself this
time. Set camp up in about hour and it's raining pretty good,
now's a good time to get the rain suit on. Got a nice campfire
going.
Let's get set up for supper and maybe go try some fishing from shore
before it gets dark. For supper we're having something simple
and easy Ring bologna and baked beans. After the doing the dishes
and cleaning up I went down
to the shore and caught a few small pan fish with my fly rod. The rain is
still coming down steady so lets go get that fire stoked up and enjoy
the evening anyway. It's great to set around the campfire even in the
rain. Well it's time to get a good nights sleep now.
